What's actually changing
From July 1, platforms (Airbnb, VRBO) must display your city license number on the listing.
Platforms must remove unlicensed listings upon the City of Austin's request.
A current City of Austin STR license is required to operate.
By third-party estimates, only about 2,400 of roughly 15,000 Austin listings hold a current license — so a large share are exposed.
